About Us

Compass Allied Health is a locally owned mobile and in-clinic service based in the rural NSW town of Tamworth. Our multidisciplinary team consists of highly experienced Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.

Compass prides itself on providing high quality, patient centered, evidence-based practice to manage the complex needs of people across the lifespan with Neurological and/or physical disabilities.

Services are delivered through a mixture of home/community appointments (with optional rural outreach days) and in clinic appointments. The clinic is a state of the art facility, equipped with dedicated consult rooms, adult neurorehab/paediatric gym spaces, and a large team room for notes/admin/breaks. We strive for continual improvement, innovation, sustainable practice and clinical excellence. Therefore, we allocate time and resources to professional development, regular team meetings, in-service education, and social events.

About the role

As an occupational therapist you will focus on promoting our clients health and wellbeing by enabling people, particularly those with a disability to participate in everyday occupations of life, such as self-care, leisure and productive activities in both a clinical and in-home environment. You will be required to work independently and also liaise with a team of Allied Health professionals to manage the needs of a variety of clients across the lifespan.

Being a mobile and in-clinic service, you will be required to travel to client’s homes and local businesses around Tamworth and its surrounds. Due to the extra time that is allocated for travel and admin, you would typically be seeing four to six patients on a regular work day. You have the freedom to inform admin as to the structure of your schedule and work hours, in alignment with the organisations goals.

The caseload will be a mixture of NDIS, Lifetime Care, and My Aged Care clients. The majority of the caseload can be tailored to fit your skills and interests, however, a therapist who is confident in managing the needs of neurological or paediatric clients would be most desirable at this point in time.

A two week paid on-boarding/ training process will be provided, wherein you will spend time with the practice manager learning the business' software and systems, and attend joint appointments with our occupational therapists.
